DESCRIPTION: Upon request from a university outside the U.S., a senior U.S. scholar or professional will be available at the inviting institution for a period of two to six weeks. Possible activities include:

  • Presenting lectures at graduate and undergraduate levels
  • Participation in or leading of seminars or workshop
  • Conducting needs assessments, surveys, institutional or programmatic research
  • Taking part in specialized academic programs and conferences
  • Consultation with administrators and instructors of post-secondary institutions on faculty development
  • Development and/or assessment of academic curricula or educational materials
  • Conducting teacher-training programs at the tertiary level

COST:Costs of the Fulbright Senior Specialist Program will be shared by the local host institution. The Fulbright program office in Washington will provide international travel for the scholar, as well as a daily honorarium. The host institution must provide lodging, utilities, meals, and domestic travel expenses or payment in-kind.
