The South-West University "Neofit Rilski" was founded in 1976 in Blagoevgrad. It is among the leading classical universities in the country.
With its 45-year history, SWU "Neofit Rilski" has won its place in the scientific and educational area of Bulgaria and South-Eastern Europe.
The university is accredited with a maximum rating by the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency, which is a guarantee of the quality of the educational service in 81 Bachelor's and Master's degree programs after a completed secondary education, 153 Master's degree programs after completed higher education and 83 PhD programs. Tuition is held in 30 professional areas in the fields of humanities, technical, natural, social, pedagogical, legal and economic sciences, management, arts, health care, public health and sports, security and defense, etc. In this criterium, the University ranks first in the country.
The structure of the University includes 9 faculties: Faculty of Law and History, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Public Health, Health Care and Sports, Faculty of Pedagogy, Faculty of Arts and Technical Faculty.
The South-West University has a rich and modern equiplement including over 200 classrooms located in 9 university buildings, University Library, Publishing House, Sports Complex, University Center, Distance Learning Center, University Theater, film, television and recording studios, concert halls, etc.
More than 800 highly qualified lecturers and employees work at the University. More than 10,000 undergraduates and more than 400 PhD students are trained here.
Graduates from the South-West University Neofit Rilski are successfully realized in various spheres of public, educational, cultural and political life in Bulgaria and around the world.
