Technical Faculty

The Technical Faculty meets the real needs of industry, economics and educational institutions, preparing highly qualified engineers and cadres for the school education system.

The Faculty offers Bachelor’s, Master's and PhD programs in the field of computer systems and technologies, information and communication technologies, electronics and applied electronic systems, modeling, technologies and management of the fashion and sewing industry, automotive expertise, engineering safety, pedagogy in education of technology and entrepreneurship, as well as career development.

Each of them can be conducted in English as well, since it complies with national and international guidelines and frameworks for establishing of an effective educational process.

The provision of high academic standards is one of the major priorities for the Faculty. The graduates from the faculty are competitive at a national and international level, not only in the field of technical and high-tech competence, but also in their practical realization.

The academic attention of the Faculty is concentrated on the integration of information and communication technologies in various spheres of public life with a view to the implementation of new technologies into all fields of human activity and the increasing of its quality.

The faculty is a member of various national and international professional organizations; it has signed cooperation agreements with institutes at the BAS, with telecommunication operators, with branch and class organizations, as well as with a number of leading companies with development and production activities.

As a result of these agreements, training programs and scholarships are offered to students together with additional specialized education.

After graduation, the well-developed connections with the aforementioned organizations give the chance for a suitable perspective of personal and professional realization for students.

Faculty of Arts

The Faculty of Arts is unique for the education system of Bulgaria and is a modern academic scientific and educational structure. It gives the exquisite opportunity for art realizations of students’ works from various specialties in the field of music, playwright, painting, dance and cinema.

The presence of specialties such as Cultural Tourism, Culture and Media, and Fashion make the palette even more picturesque. The tuition is conducted by established professionals with numerous achievements in Bulgaria and abroad. The Faculty places its students in real environement of competition and provides participation in contests, festivals, exhibitions, music and theatrical performances, fashion shows, performances, films, research expeditions, practical seminars, etc.

The realization of students after graduation is over 90%.

Faculty of Philosophy

The Faculty of Philosophy is among the leading humanity educational and scientific centres in Bulgaria. With its Bachelor’s specialties, Master’s and PhD programs, it is an attractive centre for undergraduates and PhD students not only from the south-west part of Bulgaria, but also from the whole country, many other European countries and other parts of the world as well.

The tuition in the faculty is conducted by established lecturers with acknowledged achievements in their sphere. Students are provided with suitable practical environment by means of participation in teaching practices and training, as well as contacts with potential employers.

The Faculty of Philosophy at SWU Neofit Rilski organizes its tuition in the following accreditated specialties: Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology and Psychology.

Modern education technologies are implemented in the learning process, and the tuition is conducted in a well-equipped environment with updated educational and research tools. The Faculty also possesses a specialized library book-stock.

The graduates from the Faculty of Philosophy can find their realization as:

  • Experts and managers in management, media, social work, business, public administration, education, etc.;
  • Consultants, coordinators, research specialists, marketing and advertising, human resources, monitoring, etc.;
  • Policy analyzers;

Faculty of Philology

The Faculty of Philology was founded in 1991 and realizes the most topical Bulgarian and world educational tendencies in the preparation of prospective teachers, philologists, ethnologists, journalists and interpreters. Students not only from the country, but also from Greece, North Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Ukraine, Albania, Japan, China, etc., study there. Thanks to the exchange programme for student mobility Erasmus +, they can study in tens of partner foreign univeristies for the period of one semester.

Since 2007, undergraduates from the Faculty have had the opportunity to present a two-hour programme “In the eyes of the world” on Radio Blagoevgrad, where they decide upon the topic of discussion as well as their guests by themselves.

Since 2016, a Confucius classroom has been established, whereby undergraduates from the university wishing to study Chinese can do so free of charge, with a Chinese teacher. In addition to that, students can also study Japanese with a native speaker.

Depending on the specialty and their professional qualification, graduates from the Faculty work in Bulgarian and foreign public and private companies, organizations and institutions which require pedagogical qualifications, philological competence, media and translation experience, as well as expertise in the field of ethnic and religious communities, or museum work competence.

Faculty of Pedagogy

The faculty of Pedagogy sets the beginning of the university. Nowadays, it is one of the leading centres of pedagogical science in Bulgaria, combining the teaching and learning process with scientific work of undergraduates and lecturers.

Over 2000 undergraduates from Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, North Macedonia, Izrael, Ukraine and Moldova study there. Tuition is conducted by highly qualified lecturers. The Faculty maintains close connection with similar faculties in universities in Greece, Macedonia, Russia, Albania, Poland, etc.

Graduates successfully find realization in schools and kindergartens in the country and abroad as teachers, directors, specialists in social-pedagogical centres, regional departments of education, juvenile halls and other structures of Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defence, resource centres, special schools, municipal structures. Alumni from the faculty are lecturers at other universities in the country and abroad.

Faculty of Public Health, Health Care and Sports

The Faculty offers the greatest number of regulated professions, complying with important social needs. It provides vast necessary equipment including a multifunctional sports complex, Bachinovo university research and sport-recreational centre, a centre for functional examinations in sports andkinesitherapy, a laboratory of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry with computer class, an educational research centre Health Care, a faculty centre of Logopaedics, a university centre for stammering research, a specialized resource centre, a kinesitherapy laboratory as well as other centres and laboratories. The faculty team comprises young specialists with innovative thinking applying non-standard and creative approach in the teaching process accentuating on the development of analystic way of thinking amongst undergradutes.
